

She was born on June 11, 1917, in Marion, Texas. She was a lifelong resident of San Antonio and graduated from Sidney Lanier High School in 1935.
She was a skilled secretary and worked for Petty Geophysical, Rotary International, Thomas Taylor, M.D., and the San Antonio Safety Council. During World War II, she worked for the Censorship Bureau.
She enjoyed gardening and caring for her cats. She loved to watch "Cops" and the Dallas Cowboys and doing crossword puzzles. She was proudly bilingual and did translations of documents for schools and businesses. She cared for her beloved husband, Frank, through his struggle with cancer. She enjoyed making chicken tamales, cheese enchiladas, calabacita con puerco, and produced many, many jars of her own salsa. She loved the opera and once saw "Othello" with Placido Domingo in Houston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank R. Jasso; her granddaughter, Angelica Dean Jasso; and daughter-in-law, Vicki Goodwin Jasso.
She is survived by her son, Alonso F. Jasso, daughter-in-law Carrie, and granddaughter, Natalia; her daughter, Aida J. Ybarra, her favorite son-in-law Larry, and grandchildren, Ana Marisa, Andy and Anisa Ybarra; her son, Jaime J. Jasso; her sister, Mrs. Celia B. Ortega; and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank her caregiver, Angela of the Domestic Agency, the staffs of Kingsley Place, especially Elsa Soto, and of Manor Care. She was also cared for by Drs. Raul Montemayor and Richard Ferguson. We also wish to thank the nurses and staff of St. Luke's Hospital, the Methodist Hospital, and the Christus Santa Rosa Hospice.
