Ann Boydston (Huffman) Pedersen was born June 18, 1932, to Fred M. Boydston and Lily L. Lunz and passed away April 14, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 93. She lived a long, full life of health and happiness and left this life after a brief illness. She married her high school sweetheart, Charles James Huffman, and they were parents to three children, Lasche' Ann Glasscock of San Antonio, Texas, Gay Wall of San Antonio, Texas and Charles James Huffman II of Spring Hill, Tennessee.
Ann was a beloved mother and strong woman of faith. She taught her children, and many other children, to love the teachings of Christ and chaperoned many camping and exploration trips to Garner Park where young people could experience the power and beauty of the natural world God created for them. She was a Sunday School teacher and also studied, attended, and taught Bible study classes for adults.
Ann was a lifelong learner and her quest for knowledge only ended upon her death. She graduated from Crystal City High School and later took a number of interesting and eclectic courses from Southwest Texas College. She was a pianist and studied at St. Louis Institute of Music and taught piano lessons for years. She was a Presbyterian Church Elder and church organist for decades. Later in life she learned to play the dulcimer and became a member of the Hymns and Hers musical group.
Ann's interests were varied and ranged from genealogy, where she joined the Daughters of the American Revolution, to social interaction, where she organized an early chapter of the Red Hat Society, to civic and charity participation, where she became a member of the Athena Study Club, to art, where she studied oil and watercolor painting, to card games, where most afternoons you'd find a rousing, noisy Gin Rummy game in progress in her office.
Of the many games she loved to play, Bridge was Ann's first love, followed closely by Gin Rummy. She organized many Bridge groups and when Bridge became available online, she signed up immediately, which led to friendships with people from many different countries.
Ann joined the business world early in life as a partner in a number of business ventures with her husband, Charles. Together, with Ann handling the bookkeeping and accounting, they opened a Texaco filling station, used car sales lot, car wash, mechanics repair shop, Ford tractor dealership, and custom harvesting business. A business venture Ann was particularly proud of was a non-traditional business venture she undertook on her own as a Texaco Consignee, a local distributor of Texaco fuels and lubricants to large scale farming and ranching operations.
After the death of her husband, Charles, Ann married Tom Pedersen and once again she joined a new business venture and became knowledgeable and active in Tom's business, Pedersen Jewelers.
Ann was an engaging, spirited, optimistic woman and the world now seems a lot lonelier without her. She will forever be missed by her family and friends. May she rest in eternal peace by the side of her beloved Savior, our Lord God Almighty.
A Graveside Service was held on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., in Edgewood Cemetery in Crystal City, Texas.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PeeWee's Adoption World and Pet Sanctuary, 1307 Saratoga Blvd., Corpus Christi, Texas 78417.
