
Born on September 11, 1927 in Timpson, Texas to McTyre Galloway Nix and Dona Americus Black, she graduated from Henderson High School and Scott & White School of Nursing before marrying Charles Starr Sarratt on November 23, 1949. She gave life to eight children before resuming her nursing career in 1965 and retired in 1990 following twenty-five years of service as a registered nurse at the Baptist Memorial Hospital.
Preceded from this life by her parents and husband of thirty-six years, she leaves behind her sister, Maxine Mrs. Thad L. McGehee of Pearsall. Recipients of her unconditional love, four daughters, four sons, nine granddaughters, eight grandsons, and one great-grandson, also remain to treasure memories of time shared with her.
Daughters and sons include Charlotte A. Hibner, Mary S. Dillard, Charles S. Sarratt, Jr. and wife, Priscilla, Michelle J. Makvandi and husband, Beiglar, Michael D. Sarratt, Edwin A. Sarratt, Robert N. Sarratt and wife, Debra, and Eleanor J. Sarratt and husband, Burt Van Heel.
Granddaughters and grandsons include Cristen Diller and husband, Thomas, Sienan Stevens, Stephanie Stevens, Carl Dillard, Jr., Suzanne Sarratt, Charles Sarratt III, Maziar Makvandi, Monear Makvandi, Monavar Makvandi, Mackey Makvandi, Mehrob Makvandi, Mahyar Makvandi, Mehran Makvandi, Sharon Sarratt, Cynthia Sarratt, Steven Sarratt, and Valerie Sarratt. Logan Diller is her great-grandson.
Her family extends thanks to Jan Owens, Social Worker, and Dalila S-Russell, Chaplain, and special thanks to Judy Zandt, RN, all of the Vitas Hospice, for their compassionate care. No words can express sufficiently the family's gratitude for the loving sacrifices of daughter, Charlotte, to preserve the dignity of our sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and to make her last years in this life comfortable.
