

She was born on June 2, 1916, was one of three children born to Edward Jerome and Eleanor Fritz in Victoria, TX and was the granddaughter of Vincent S. Fritz of Victoria, TX. Anna Rose resided for the majority of her life in San Antonio, TX where she attended both Our Lady of the Lake high school and college.
Anna Rose grew up during the Great Depression and understood what it was like to have nothing and she never forgot that.
Later in life Anna Rose was able to indulge in her passion and travel the world. She was actively involved with her church St. John's the Evangelist, through the altar society, the choir, and the parish council. She was a long time member of the Regina Guild and many other social and charitable organizations.
Anna Rose was an avid reader, she loved to sing, play the piano, cook, eat, and entertain friends and family. She was always there to lend an ear, a shoulder to cry on, or just for a good laugh.
Anna Rose was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Dornwell and her brother, Jerome Fritz.
She is survived by her sister, Kess Marie Redburn; her children, Royce Mahula and Richard Dornwell; her grandchildren, and their families, Gretchen Jones, Brigid and Donny King, Rachel and Joel Cullen, their father, Fred Mahula Jr., and her beloved great granddaughter, Paige Cullen.
Anna Rose touched the lives of many people with her laughter and generosity, and maintained her trademark sense of humor all the way to the end. She will be fondly remembered by countless other friends and family who were blessed to know her. Eat, pray, and laugh.
