

Anne Bradford Bell, age 89, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by family. She was born April 11, 1935, to William Russell and Rose Burnett Bradford. Anne was preceded in death by her parents, granddaughter, Camryn Elizabeth Adams. She is survived by her daughters, Marian Bell Harlos (Ralph), Anne Bell Long (Wade), and Grace Elizabeth Adams (Randy); grandchildren, Trevor Edward Harlos (Madeline), Travis Elliott Harlos (Kelly), Collin Long Sicolla (Sam), and Ansley Yvonne Adams; as well as great granddaughter, Ella Elizabeth Cutherell.
Raised in San Antonio, Anne was born in the Philippines where her father was stationed serving in the United States Air Force. She attended St. Mary’s Hall, spent her Sophomore and Junior high school years in Paris, France and graduated from Alamo Heights High School. Anne went on to Sweet Briar College in Amherst, VA. In the Fall of 1957, she made her debut and was an Order of the Alamo Duchess in the Spring 1958.
Anne was a devout Episcopalian and lifelong member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church. Among her many services to the church she headed the Altar Guild, taught Sunday School, was a member of the Daughters of the King and Women of St. Mark’s. She was a member of Junior League of San Antonio, San Antonio Conservation Society, Daughters of Republic of Texas. She shared her love of history and culture as a docent at Witte Museum and Majestic Theater.
Anne’s greatest joy was time spent with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
