

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Antonia G. Acosta., age 98, passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2024. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lucio R. Acosta; and daughter-in-law, Susan Braly-Acosta. Antonia is survived by her sons, Lucio Acosta III and wife, Rosie, Ricardo Acosta and Carlos Acosta and wife, Linda; grandchildren, Bret McInnis, Amy Holcomb, Jaime Jordan, Carla McCann, Austin Acosta, Addison Acosta, Chris Acosta; and eleven great grandchildren.
Antonia was a part of our greatest generation. During World War II, she supported the war effort by working at Kelly field as a Kelly Girl. Her team worked on various bomber aircraft parts. For most of her married life, she helped support her family by running an in home day care center for children. She blessed hundreds of children over her 30 year career with so much love, great home cooked meals and taught them many important pre-school skills related to reading, spelling, math and art.
A Rosary will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 6:00 PM followed by eulogies and family visitation until 9:00 PM at Porter Loring Mortuary North at 2102 North Loop 1604 East. A Procession will depart on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 9:15 AM from Porter Loring Mortuary North for a Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, 700 Dewhurst, followed by interment in Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
