Antonio G. Ozuna, 90, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away after a long battle with Dementia on Monday, July 4, 2022. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Tony managed his illness with strength and grace and spent his final day surrounded by his family, whom he wholeheartedly adored.
Tony learned about serving others, especially his country. During his early years, he proudly served in the U.S. Army and Army Reserves - he embodied the values of brotherhood and was no stranger to hard work. Tony retired from Roadway Express after 20 years of service as a truck driver and was an honorary retired member of Teamster’s Union #657.
On Valentine’s Day in 1957, he married the love of his life, Lilly, who remained by his side all the days of his life. Together, they raised a family, celebrated the good times, persevered in times of incredible difficulty, and taught their children the meaning of unconditional love and the importance of family.
Tony was a peaceful man - he saw the good in people, enjoyed trips to the casinos, played bingo, and embraced nature by camping with those he loved the most. There wasn’t anything Tony wouldn’t do for his family, and he touched the hearts of all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife Lily; and children: Antonio R. Ozuna (Debra), Yolanda Ozuna, David Ozuna (Kim), Carlos Ozuna (Carrie-Anne), and Carolina O. Suarez (Richard). His grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Joshua Ozuna, Daniel Ozuna, Christian Ozuna, Hana Mead, Anissa Guerrero, Isabella Guerrero, Sophia Suarez, Ryan Ozuna, Dillon Ozuna, Norah Mead, Lily Arguellez and Isla Arguellez. His siblings: Alicia Guzman, Carolina Juarez, Ernesto Ozuna, Sylvia Lopez, Diana Cerna, Robert Ozuna, and Joe Ozuna. Tony is preceded in death by his parents, Antonio & Carolina Ozuna, his brother Eddie Ozuna, his sister, Enriqueta Chavez, and his son, Gilbert Ozuna.
A memorial service to honor and celebrate his life will be held at Trevino Funeral Home at 226 Cupples Road on Tuesday, July 19, 2022. The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00 p.m., with the prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m.
