Better known as Uncle Mando, he was born to his parents Eduardo and Petra Rios on June 21st, 1957, in San Antonio, TX. He joined the United States Army at the young age of 20, Mando was a sharpshooter and grenade specialist. Not only was he a national hero, but he was also a local hero saving the life of an eight-year-old little boy in Rockport, Texas.
Mando was a loving and humble man but so full of love and light, he was the life of the party, a great poker and dice player, a wonderful dancer, a jokester and he loved the ladies.
Mando was known for always greeting his sisters and many nieces with the comment, “Hello Beautiful”. He was a born protector and loved his family and friends.
Mando is preceded in death by his parents Eduardo and Petra, Brothers Gilbert, Daniel, Mike, Jesus and David.
He is survived by his brothers Edward (Esther), Henry (Eleanor), Raymond, Peter and Paul. His sisters Rosa (Joe), Angie (Bert) numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He will be truly missed, this isn’t goodbye, it’s until we see you again.

A visitation for Armando will be held Monday, May 26, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A mass of the resurrection will occur Tuesday, May 27, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Saint Frances Cabrini Church, 1606 San Casimiro St, 78214. Interment will follow at San Jose Burial Park, 8235 Mission Rd, 78214.
