Arthur was the beloved son of Arthur Andrew Amaya and Alice Barbara Cavazos, and he is survived by his loving mother, Alice. He was a proud father to his children, Eric Amaya, Amanda Powell and grandchildren Abigail and Corinne Powell, and Zane Amaya.
In addition to his children and mother, Arthur is survived by his siblings, Mary Guilfoyle, Barbara Amaya, Kimberly Amaya, Pam Vosberg, and Jimmy Amaya, who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Arthur was living in Sarasota, FL for his job with HCA Hospitals. Many of his professional years in the accounting field were spent working for Methodist Hospital. Those who knew Art well always met up with him at Whataburger for stop#1 when coming home to San Antonio. His love for the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Astros, and University of Texas Longhorns was evidenced by his collection of sweatshirts. His loyalty to Texas was ever present. He had so many friends and will be missed by many!
The family will be receiving friends from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Monday, April 21, 2025, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 N. Loop 1604 E.
Funeral Services will take place the following day, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 10:00 A.M. at St. Luke Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Drive.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Alzheimers Association or charity of your choice.
