Arthur John Hinkel, born July 9, 1920 in Cecil Wisconsin, passed away November 8, 2017 at the age of 97. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Masako Hinkel; sons, Clark Hinkel (Valerie) John Hinkel; daughter, Janet Lonsberry (Charlie); brother, Willard Hinkle; sister, Irma Sampson; grandchildren, Katie, Brooke, Austin, Travis, Jason, Chad Christi; great grandchildren, Evie, Wyatt, Corbin, Levi, Cadence, Bruce, and Dalton. A World War II veteran who served in the European and North African campaigns, Arthur Hinkel served in numerous posts in Japan and Korea and retired as Command Sergeant Major, HQ 4th USARMY Chaplains at Ft Sam Houston. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Chapel on Monday, November 20, 2017 from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm, with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 2:30 pm.
