Arturo "Tata" Navaira

Arturo Navaira, born on August 14th, 1947, to Adan Navaira and Juana Martinez in San Antonio, Texas, passed away on December 29th, 2024, at the age of 77. He was a beloved father, grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother, whose life was filled with love, joy, and cherished memories.

Arturo had a deep passion for baseball, a love that he shared with many throughout his life. Whether watching games or playing with family and friends, baseball was a source of enjoyment and connection for him. He also found great pleasure in listening to classic "oldies" music, which always filled the air with nostalgia and warmth.

Above all, Arturo treasured spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. His joy in their company was evident in the stories he shared, the laughter that echoed through his home, and the love he gave unconditionally. Arturo’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family, who will forever cherish the moments they had with him.

Arturo reunites in heaven with his wife; Maria Gracia Navaira, parents; Adan and Juana Navaira, brothers; Joe Dominguez, Adan F. Navaira, Elojio Navaira, and sister; Eva Guzman.

Arturo memory and legacy will forever live in the hearts of his brothers and sisters; Eloy (Dolores) Lozano, Roman (Alice) Navaira, Raul Navaira, Maria Ruffo, Delia Bazar, Edna (Edward) Torres, his daughters; Rita (Jesus) Huizar, and Juanita Cantu, his beloved grandchildren; Daizy Marie Longoria, Jesus Jr. Huizar, Manna Anastasia Huizar, his great-grandchildren; Genesis Narro, Danielle, Jaylon B. Huizar, Jesse II Huizar, Aria-Avery Huizar, Ezra Richard Huizar, Azariah Arturo Huizar, along with 28 nieces and nephews.

A Visitation for Arturo will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 11:00 PM with a Prayer Service 7:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. A Chapel Service will occur Thursday, January 9, 2025 at 10:00 AM following a processional to San Fernando Cemetery II for burial.
