Aurora Salinas Hernandez

Aurora was born to Isabel and Teresa (Garza) Salinas, April 18, 1948. She graduated from Pearsall High School in 1967 and received her Certificate in Nursing from the Baptist Health System in 1984. She married Raymond Hernandez on August 28th, 1971, and they resided in Seguin, TX. Together they raised two daughters.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Raymond Hernandez, as well as two daughters Veronica Thompson (James), Monica Hines (Jeff). She also leaves behind her three cherished and loving grandchildren Raymond James Thompson, Camille Carolyn & Michael Atchison Hines, Brothers Narno Salinas (Sonya) of San Antonio, TX, George Salinas (Ester) of Pearsall, TX, Luis Salinas (Jackie) of San Antonio, TX, and Sisters, Olga Thoman (Jack) of Jackson, MI, Yolanda Salinas of Pearsall, TX. Aurora also had a great number of nieces, nephews, and friends whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents Isabel and Teresa (Garza) Salinas, brothers Arturo Salinas & Carlos Salinas. Aurora worked as a L.V.N. for 28 years. She enjoyed loving, serving, cooking, and entertaining her family. Her hobbies were sewing and crocheting little red hats for the children in the NICU at the Guadalupe Regional Hospital in Seguin, TX.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday March 8th, 2024. Rosary will start at 9:30AM followed by mass at Church of the Holy Spirt in San Antonio, TX 8134 Blanco Rd, San Antonio, TX 78216. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:30AM. Father Martin Leopold will officiate the ceremony.
