Barbara G. Alspaugh-Suehs (nee Lane), age 82, passed away peacefully on June 17, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born February 14, 1943 to James and Doris Lane in San Antonio. She was raised in New Boston, Texas and graduated from New Boston High School in 1961.
After obtaining her associate’s degree in business administration, Barbara began her career in Washington D.C. working for the US Government at our Pentagon. Following a brief marriage which gave her two children and took her around the word with the U.S. Air Force, she landed in medical management and administration at Lackland A.F.B. She began coordinating conventions and was instrumental in the creation and direction of the Dannemiller Memorial Educational Foundation in 1984. In 1987 she founded her own business, Medical Reimbursement Services, which she operated until she fully retired in 2018.
Barbara was known for her deep love for her family and her generous spirit towards her friends. She often said her greatest accomplishments in life were her children, Terry and Melanie. She was a pillar of strength and support for those around her, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. In her free time, Barbara enjoyed traveling, genealogy, dancing, listening to music, and exploring art.
In 2009, Barbara met Charles (Charlie Boy) Suehs. They shared a love for genealogy and local Texas history, wine, all things Alsatian and above all, each other. They married on April 9, 2011, and together had many adventures travelling, socializing, and wine-tasting in California, Alaska, Italy, France, Switzerland, and Germany.
Barbara's zest for life and her kind heart touched the lives of all who knew her, and she is deeply missed.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents James and Doris Lane, sisters Darlene E. Lane and Patricia J. Bowman, and husband Charles B. Suehs.
Barbara is survived by her son Terence Alspaugh and his wife Angie of Lubbock, Texas; daughter Melanie Alspaugh of Delemont, Switzerland; stepdaughter Dr. Carey Suehs and her husband Dr. Theirry Boudemaghe of San Antonio; stepson Charles Steven Suehs of Dripping Springs; grandchild Nathaniel Alspaugh and step grandchildren Charles Anthony Suehs, Morgann Rose Metzger-Suehs, Gabrielle Boudemaghe, and Emmanuelle Boudemaghe; and sister Ginger Harshman.
