

Barbara Louise Jackson, age 79, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, December 12, 2022, at home with her children by her side. She was born on February 27, 1943, in San Antonio, to Albert and Sadie Fest. A life resident of San Antonio, she was a 1961 graduate of Highlands High School where she was a cheerleader and a member of the Highlands Brigade, Modern Dianas, and Tri-Hi-Y Clubs.
Barbara also served as a member of the Teena Texas Board. After high school, she worked at City Public Service and attended San Antonio College where she obtained her associate degree. On August 17, 1963, she married her high school sweetheart, Carlton Jackson. Barbara was a devoted mother and remained active in all her children’s school and church activities. She began her career with Estee Lauder and ultimately advanced to Account Executive with Sanofi, where she travelled all over the United States and Paris. Barbara was proud to be a founding member of Abiding Presence Lutheran Church, where she was involved in the Altar Guild, acolyte and greeter coordinator, and anything that was needed.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Albert “Bunky” Fest, III; infant son, Jason Todd Jackson; and son-in-law, David Hooker.
Barbara is survived by her son, Carlton Ray Jackson, Jr.; daughter, Dana Michelle Jackson Hooker; granddaughter, Peyton Blair Hooker; nieces and nephews, Brian Tobin Fest and Heraton Bell-Fest, Kellye Fest Harris and Randy Harris, Tiffani Brooke Fest, Traci Louise Shaw and Ryan Shaw, Albert Benjamin Fest, IV and Heather Keiler-Green-Fest, and Andrew Bryce Fest; and numerous extended family members and loved ones.
Barbara was the most kind, sweet, and loving person and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 21, 2022, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
