OMGoodness, I HOPE & PRAY that someone WILL read this because I was just trying to find out how to get ahold of Barbara, who was my former attorney whenever I had a case against my father's having me WRONGFULLY incarcerated just so that he could take my children from me AFTER I bit a chunk out of his arm because he put me into a headlock whenever I was in the middle of having a panic attack back on February 17th of 2000. My dad's putting me into a headlock while I was in the middle of a panic attack was due to his FAILURE to EVER attend even one of the meetings that the 1st brain injured rehab. had EVERY week for the 20+ weeks that I was there that would have taught him "How to PROPERLY handle your brain injured loved one in case of an emergency"...SOOOO, HAD my dad attended even ONE meeting he would have KNOWN NOT to put me into a headlock and my Neuro-psychologist wanted me to contact Barbara to see whether or not she'd be able to send me a copy of the text, or email, in reference to her asking me- Kimberly Dawn Johnson to have my father Lonnie Freeman Johnson Sr. by either email or text, I don't think there was ever an actual court order, BUT I KNOW that asked we asked my dad by either sending him a text, or email sometime in early 2006 that was asking that he provide us with a copy of EVERY child support payment that he had EVER made to my mother Margaret Ann Cogdill-Martin BECAUSE I was APPALLED whenever I was ordered to pay him child support AFTER my mother was STILL having to work even though she was 33 weeks pregnant AND NOOO ONE would even hire her after she was forced to quit her job as an Accountant because of ALL of her bosses sexual innuendos about wanting some of her pregnant cookie, SOOO she had to settle for getting a paper route in order to pay our mortgage AND WAS KILLED by a drunk driver. Then back in February or March of 2013 when we were out in Oregon to see my grandfather before he died, we even went out to California & saw an attorney who ALSO died last year who said that my dad's NEVER paying my mom ANY Child Support for my brother or I made his being a dead beat father made him culpable for her death AND his NEVER attending a meeting on how to properly handle me whenever I was having a panic attack ALSO means he's culpable for having me WRONGFULLY INCARCERATED for 119 days at $500.00 a day for EVERY single day I was in the Bexar County jail... Meant that IF he c/o the Yuba County Court, Yuba County Child Support AND Attorney Mr. Richard Thomas in Marysville, Ca FAILED to PROMPTLY REMOVE their judgement that was based on my dad's ERRONEOUS claim then we would file a suit against EVERY single one of them for ALL of the emotional pain they'd caused me AFTER I SPECIFICALLY told a bunch of the workers that their continuously calling me about what I owe my so called father who NEVER even helped my mother, makes me re-live seeing ALL of the pain that my mother was in one morning whenever she was SOOOO WEAK, that I had to go & help her climb the steps to our front door. 
We think that since NONE of them could even care less about my situation...Jesus MUST have trusted me with this trial to get some new laws enacted that'll protect ANYONE else from EVER being subjected to this right? Please either email a copy to me, or call (256)687-9897 Thank you,

Barbara helped me and my husband adopt my son. After the adoption we continued to keep in touch. I believe she passionately helped hundreds, maybe thousands, of people to have better lives. She made her mark in this world and many will forever be changed for the better because of what she did and how she lived her life. I am so Thankful to God that she was a part of my life and my family's life. I am forever grateful for her.

Just to let Barbara's Family know that I am thinking of her on her Birthday. Happy Birthday Barbara. You are so missed!!

I know I am posting this message kind of late, but my computer was "down" since the end of September, and although I did find out about Barbara, I had no means of communication since all of her and her family's information was on my computer. My daughter just finally got it working again, and this is the first thing I am doing on it. 
 I was so shocked and saddened to find out about Barbara's passing. We went to Miami Beach High School together, but had become much closer over the past few years when we began to stay in touch via Email. I so enjoyed seeing her at our 50th high school reunion in 2010, and was looking forward to seeing her and spending time together again at our Class's "70th Birthday Party" weekend this past November. I thought a lot about her that weekend, as I know many other's who attended did also. She was missed! 
 Barbara and I also shared a love of animals and the TNR programs to control their population. She was such a wonderful, thoughtful and caring person. I think about her often, and I know she will be watching over all those she loved and cared about so much. Rest in Peace Barbara. You've earned it!

I just found out that the world lost an awesome person. Our family met her when she became my grandchildrens guardian ad litum. She was the best. She had so much passion & love in caring for her clients. We will miss our dinners & talks. Barbara did love her family & her "extended family". She will be greatly missed. I am so sorry for your loss Mrs. Slavin was a very important person in my life i first met her when a little boy named trey was placed in my home from the first time she met him i could tell she loved him very much and she did as much as she could to help with what we needed. She was such a wonderful loving person and im so gratful to have known her.

Barbara was a true advocate in the fight against domestic violence. She worked hard for the clients of Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, Inc. She will truly be missed. May you rest in peace Barbara.
