

Benjamin Garfield Jackson is a Child of God. He was born on June 22, 1946 in Rockbridge County, Lexington Virginia. Benjamin was about five years old when his family moved to Huntington, West Virginia. Ben attended schools at Barnett Elementary and Douglass High School. He graduated from Huntington High School. His next adventure was the United States Marine Corps. He served twenty-five faithful years and retired (Honorable Discharge) from United States Marine Corps as a Master Gunnery Sergeant. Also he was a Viet Nam Veteran.
Benjamin continued his education in the field of Corrections; Corrections Administration, Behavioral Science, Criminal Justice, National Institute of Corrections, Modesto Junior College, and San Diego State College. Also, Benjamin retired (TRS) with twenty-one years as (NJROTC) a Naval Science Instructor at Southwest High School , San Antonio, Texas.
On December 11, 2016, Benjamin Garfield Jackson peacefully closed his eyes to rest safely in the arms of Jesus our Lord. He joins his parents, Geraldine and James Jackson, his sister Margaret, Sister Alice, Brother David, daughter in law Tamara Cofee who precede him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories; his beloved wife Louise Jackson, Brother James, Son Benjamin Jr., Daughter Angela, daughter in law Jennifer Jackson, five grandchildren, cousin Carole, host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly. Finally , Ben's wife would like to thank our special friends who supported us during years of Ben's health problems: Martinez's Family, Snell's Family, Jackson's Family, Johnson's Family, Edward's Family, Dere's Family, Charles Robinson, Dennis Frye and all our friendly neighbors.
A Wake will begin at 10:00am on December 22, 2016 at True Vine Baptist Church, located at 435 S. Ellison Dr. San Antonio, Texas. The funeral service will follow at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
