

Bennie was born in Randolph, Texas, later moving to Sylvester, Texas where she attended McCauley High School. She graduated from Hendricks Memorial Hospital School of Nursing at Hardin-Simmons University in 1947 in Abilene, Texas. Bonnie was a practicing Registered Nurse for over 40 years, including hospitals, doctor offices, private homes, and the Ft. Drake Clinic in Tokyo, Japan.
“Sunshine” was a long-standing member of Northern Hills United Methodist Church of San Antonio, Texas. She joined in 1974 and served the Lord in many ways. She was an usher in the morning service for over 35 years and worked on every Tuesday for many years.
Survivors include daughter, Sharon Mayo and husband Johnny of La Vernia, Texas; son, Michael H. Moffett and wife Megan of Glendale, Arizona; grandsons, Eric Mayo and wife Lisa, Dustin Mayo of Tucson, Arizona and Sean Moffett of Glendale, Arizona; granddaughter, Caitlin Moffett of Houston, Texas; and sister, Betty Adams of Mansfield, Texas. She will be greatly missed by numerous nieces and nephews including her two great-grandchildren Brayden and Brinley of McKinney, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Hoy K. Moffett (Married September 21, 1947); her parents, Beatrice and Homer Laulis (step dad); her father, Therman A. Bell; her sisters, Lucille Terry and Velta Tischhauser; brothers-in-law, Arlan Sharp, Jim Adams, Delbert Biers, Dr. Joe Terry, and Paul Tischhauser; and nephews, Bud Huddeston and Christopher Sharp.
The family will receive friends beginning at 9:00 AM, Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, 2102 North Loop 1604 East.
