

Bennye Carol Frazier, age 76, of San Antonio, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, April 10, 2006.
She received her Bachelor of Arts at Incarnate Word College and her Master of Arts in Educational Psychology and Guidance and Counseling at The University of Texas San Antonio.
She taught Coordinated Vocational Academic Education Cooperative, a course developed for students who were identified as being at-risk as potential drop-outs. Her most recent employment was at Sidney Lanier High School, San Antonio Independent School District.
Ms. Frazier served two terms as President of the San Antonio Teachers Council, the local affiliate of the Texas State Teachers Association and the National Education Association. She also served as President of the San Antonio Calligraphers Guild for two years and State President of the Texas Industrial Vocational Association, the first female president of an organization that is 85%-90% male teachers, mostly non-degreed.
She was actively involved in the community and served her third term as President of the San Antonio Archives Association, an organization dedicated to the preservation of archival materials for the San Antonio Independent School District. She was also a past president of the Harp and Shamrock Society, a member of the S.A. Conservation Society and paper chair of NIOSA. She was a past Bexar County chairman of the Democratic Party and an avid democrat. She was an Advocate of education and teachers rights.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Georgia Edgeworth and sister, Iris Elizabeth Edgeworth. Survivors: husband of 50 years, Tom Frazier; sons, Ricks Frazier and wife, Rita, Wilmette, IL. And Joe Frazier and wife, Mia, Edmond, OK; daughters, Julie Alexander and husband, Ron and Erin Burnett and husband, Wayne, all of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Nicholas Frazier, Austin, TX, Kevin Frazier, Wilmette, IL, Justin and Meaghan Alexander, Stephanie and Amanda Anderson, Kirstin Burnett, all of San Antonio, TX, Mathew, Kamala and Kameryn Frazier, all of Edmond, OK; great-grandson, Hunter Wilson Meadows, San Antonio, TX; brother, Howard Bennett Edgeworth, Jr and wife, Katy, Copperas Cove, TX; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
