

Mrs. Joseph A. Seminara (nee Beryle Alaiwaie Cavett), 92, died Thursday, Nov. 3 shortly before noon. She was born 6/11/1924 in Waxahachie, TX, the older of two daughters, to Strange Eunice Cavett and Mary Curlee.
She graduated from Plainview High School in 1943 and worked as a Rosie Riveter during World War II at Douglas Aircraft in El Segundo, CA. She married Joseph Anthony Seminara on 2/1/1948, in San Antonio, TX. Following her conversion to the Catholic faith on 1/31/1950, she and Joseph were remarried at St. Mary’s Chapel. He preceded her in death on Dec. 19, 1999. Know to all as Mrs. S, she enjoyed gardening, reading her extensive collection of cookbooks and her pets. She was feisty and lived every minute of her life; she was joking with the doctors in the ER the morning she passed.
She is survived by six children and their spouses: Carol Seminara (Joe Houde); Debra Barcena (Bernard); Joseph A. “Tony” Seminara, Jr.; Betty Estrada (Edward); Patty Vaughan (Garry); and Michael Seminara (Carolle Ternus). And five grandchild and spouses: Jonathan Seminara King (Whitney Page); Joe and Bailey Anderson; Sean Estrada (Beverly Rongero); Paul Estrada; and Maggie Anderson.
Mrs. S was buried with her husband at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in a private service.
The family requests no flowers. Remembrances can be made to the SPCA or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
