Betty Ann Robbins, age 82, passed away March 25, 2013, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on March 25, 1931, in Houston, Texas. She was the last child born to the loving household of Albert and Amelia Bertelsen, the beloved little sister of Hal, Dee Dee, Elmer, and Emily.
She graduated from Trinity University in San Antonio, a proud Spur. Following college she began her lifelong path as an educator, teaching hundreds of children, loving them all. She retired from teaching in June, 1997. Along this path she met and married Harold (Hal) Robbins. They wed on July 18, 1958, and remained in a union of love and laughter until his death in May 2001.
She deeply loved God, her country, and her family and friends - in fact all were family to her. She was gentle and forgiving of human frailty, and found a reason to laugh no matter what the gravity of the situation.
She is survived by her daughter, Ann Robbins of Austin; son, Paul Robbins of Santiago, Chile; grandchildren, Sloan Buffum-Robbins, Christian Buffum-Robbins, Isobel Buffum-Robbins and Paul Robbins-Melendez; her sister-in-law, Katherine Bertelsen; numerous nieces and nephews, and scores of fond friends.
