Augusta Kipp Cotter. Entered Heaven's Gates, June 15, 2018, at age 87.
Beverly grew up in Appleton, and loved ice skating, roller skating, bike riding, and
playing softball. She had dreamed of being a professional softball pitcher! Upon High
School Graduation in 1948, she worked for the Wire Works Co. in Appleton. In 1950,
she chose to join the US Army, entering service and bootcamp at Ft. Lee, Virginia.
She was assigned to Administrative Clerk Training at Ft. Sam Houston, Texas. Her first
assignment was as an Office Clerk at FSH. Beverly's Supervisor was SFC Carl F. Williams,
whom she would marry in January 1951. Later in that year she was Honorably Discharged
from the Army as an E3, becoming a Veteran of the Korean Conflict Era.
The Williams' first daughter, Cheryl Lynn, was born at BAMC on November 9, 1951. Next
assignment was to Tokyo, Japan, where their second daughter, Carrie Lee, was born on
March 30, 1954. Tours of duty took the family to Alaska ( Territory),Chicago, Maryland,
Germany, Virginia, Washington State, and Colorado. Beverly loved to travel and also visited
Belgium, Austria, France, Holland, Italy, England,Australia, New Zealand, Figi Islands,
Columbia, Panama, Jamaica, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico,and all States in the USA four times
each.
Beverly became involved with the NCO Wives Club in Germany, with bowling and local
sightseeing trips. She also joined The Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter 3, Heidelberg,
Germany. In 1982, she would join OES, Wimodausis #141, in San Antonio, Texas. Beverly
also became involved with The Rainbow Girls, serving a time as Worthy Matron, when her
daughters were members in Heidelberg.
In 1973, Beverly and Carl retired and moved to Kirby, by San Antonio, Texas. She
worked for JC Penney at Terrell Plaza on Austin Hwy. In July 1974, Beverly became a
Civil Service employee, working in the Patient Records Room at Brooke Army Medical
Center. In 1984, she transferred to Central Appointments for BAMC, attaining ' Top Clerk'
status. SGM (Ret.) Carl F. Williams died suddenly on March 30, 1986. Beverly retired after
twenty-one years of Civil Service in December 1995.
In the Fall of 1991, Beverly became reacquainted with Air Force Chief(Ret.) Stephen P.
'Sully' Sullivan, also widowed. She was making doctor's appointments for him, and he asked
her out for coffee! They fell very much in love, and were married June 6, 1992. For the next
twenty years they had a truly loving, and happy, marriage. They traveled often and enjoyed
their retired life. Moving to Windcrest was a highlight of their later years. The Sullivans
joined Resurrection
Episcopal Church in Windcrest, and became very involved with the Church community,
making many great friends along the way. Beverly joined the Daughters of the King.
Together, they hosted the "Lunch Bunch" program from 1997-1999. Beverly became a
member of the American Legion, Chapter 612, in Windcrest. She was also very proud of
Stephen for his role as a Founder of the "Hangar Doors" group at Randolph AFB. They
enjoyed great lunches and fellowship at the organization's monthly meetings at the RAFB
NCO Club. They enjoyed many great friends wherever they went!
On June 30, 2012, at 93.5 years, Stephen received his final wings, and entered the
Lord's everlasting peace. Beverly moved to the City of Santa Clara, near Marion, onto the
Itschner Family's Timber Hall Farm. She so loved living in the country with her family and
her beloved puppies: Maggie, ChaCha, Chaco, Roy, Tiago, and Pumpkin. Beverly especially
loved feeding the field horses carrots from her back porch deck! Beverly enjoyed a life well-
lived as a Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma, helper to her family, animal lover, a fine
Episcopalian and a strong Republican! Her proudest family moments were: the birth of her
niece Bonnie Welhouse, the births of granddaughters Catie(1981) and Chrissy(1984),and the
birth of great granddaughter Casey(2005).
Beverly is survived by: Daughters: Cheryl L. Frazier(Dan), and Carrie L. Itschner
(Maj./Ret. Charles); Nieces, Barb Johnson, and Becky Vanden Oever; Nephew, Bill Wellhouse III,
Step-daughters:Susan Neumann, and Margaret James(Terry); Grand-
Daughters: Catelin L. Itschner, Christine L. Itschner, and Allison M. Roberts; Step-Grand
Daughters: Margaret Dockendorf(Mike) and Michele Neumann; Great Grand Daughter:
Casey A. Jacinto; Great Grand Niece: Brenda Zemke(Keith); Great Great Grand niece:
Zoe Zemke; Great Great Grand Nephew: Garrett Zemke; Step-Grandsons: Lester C.
Itschner(Martha), Roy W. Itschner(Debbie), Wm.Terry(Jr.) and Nathan James; Step-
Great Granddaughter: Megan Neumann; Step-Great Grandsons: Randy and Ryan
Dockendorf, Charles L. Itschner(Olivia), Matthew S. Itschner(Courtnie); Step-Nephews:
Tom Benke(Leece), and David Benke; Step-Niece: Sandra Benke; Step- Great Nieces:
Marissa and Amanda Benke; Step-Great Nephews: Alex and Robert Benke.
