Billie Yvonne Lehrer Wheeler passed away at the age of 82 in San Antonio, TX. She was born on September 19, 1936 to Clarence Ernest and Lois Hunnicutt Lehrer in San Antonio, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents; mother-in-law: Nettie Wheeler; Uncle and Aunt Wilburn A. "Mutt" and Berniece Hunnicutt Freer; cousin: David Freer. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Albert Lyle Wheeler; sister: Mary Faye Lehrer; children: Richard J. Wheeler (Barbara), Patricia A. Wheeler (James), Lyle E. Wheeler (Herbert), Mary Kathleen Autry, Linda C. Carnahan, Lisa G. Burke; 10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; cousin: Dale Freer; her fur baby: Little One and other family members and friends. Billie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was born in San Antonio, TX and grew up in San Saba, TX. She graduated at the age of 16 from San Saba HS and then attended Abilene Christian College. Billie met and married her loving husband, Albert L., in Alamogordo NM on November 3, 1962 where they started their life together. She worked as a Civil Service employee for 30+ years for the U.S. Air Force, retiring from AFMPC at Randolph AFB in the 90s. She loved sports, specifically her Texas Longhorns and Green Bay Packers; going to the Majestic Theater; lovingly caring for her four legged friends. And she especially loved bowling where she was proud to be a part of the WIBC and the 600 club. Billie will be greatly missed by many.
A visitation will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019 from 11am-1pm at Sunset Funeral Home with a graveside service to be held at 1:45pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
