

Brigitte was the first-born daughter of Maria Gallistl and Richard Poeschl. She was born on November 10, 1943 in Vetrni, Czechoslovakia. Following the end of WWII, the family relocated to Eltville, Germany.
In April 1968, Brigitte married Stephen Edward Nicholson, an American Airman. In 1970, the couple moved with their newborn son to Stephen's hometown of Murfreesboro, North Carolina where she became a naturalized citizen. After her first marriage dissolved, Brigitte moved to Chesapeake, Virginia where she worked as an office manager for a construction company.
In October of 1985, Brigitte married Captain George Stephen Jonas and relocated with her son to San Antonio, Texas. There, Brigitte was a stay-at-home mother and homemaker. Following the death of Captain Jonas, Brigitte continued to be an avid supporter of the San Antonio Liederkranz. She discovered a love of red wine and travel, visiting Europe, taking cruises, and bus trips.
Brigitte was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, and second husband.
Brigitte leaves behind her son, George Richard "Rick" Nicholson and his wife Valori Morris Nicholson and granddaughter, Samantha Anne Nicholson of Houston; Step-grandchildren, Tracey Carmichael and husband Robert of San Antonio, Patrick Bell and wife Rebecca of McKinney, Melissa Summerville and husband Eric of San Antonio, Michael Nelson and wife Alex of Austin, Dorothy Nelson and wife Kristen of San Antonio, and David Nelson Jr. of Allen; seven great-grandchildren; her sister, Beate Poeschl Rupp and husband Paul of Schwalbach, Germany; and nieces, Eva, Franziska, and Johanna.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 27th from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Porter Loring on McCullough
