
Mr. Williams, a native Texan, grew up in Beaumont until his family moved to Richardson, a suburb of Dallas. He attended and graduated from Richardson High School, where he excelled at the game of golf.
Mr. Williams attended Texas A&M, on a golf scholarship, and was a member of the cadet corp. He graduated in 1971 with a BA in Business Marketing and a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. He served in the Army Reserves as a Signal Corp officer, rising to the rank of Captain.
Mr. Williams served the San Antonio community as an agent for State Farm Insurance for 25 years. One of his most proud accomplishments was establishing a "business leads" group to serve the community.
Mr. Williams was a passionate golfer and hunter as well as a devoted family man.
He is preceded in death by his father, James D. Williams; and his sister, Mary Elaine Williams.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Williams; children, Natalie Williams, Leslie Williams and Amanda Williams; granddaughter, Haven Williams; mother, Esma Williams; brothers, Mark Williams and his wife Diana, and James Williams and his wife Karen; his State Farm family, loyal policy holders, and scores of wonderful friends.
