"Fearless" Jack Frazier, as he was known during his flying days, began his military aviation career by joining the U.S. Army Air Force in 1943. He qualified as a Navigator and Bombardier in B-29s and received his commission at age 20. When World War II ended, he was with his B-29 crew on the way to Tinian Island for the invasion of Japan. He became a qualified pilot on multi-engine aircraft and used this expertise in many U.S. Air Force and Joint Chiefs of Staff assignments.
After his retirement as a Lieutenant Colonel and a short term as a professional staffer for Sen. William Proxmire, he turned his vast expertise in military aviation to the Naval Air Systems Command. In 1988, he was assigned to the PMA-265 Program Office as the F/A-18 Assistant Program Manager for Production and Procurement and as the Coordinator of Technical Issues and Quality. Throughout his years of service he received numerous medals, citations, awards, and letters of recognition.
Jack officially retired in 2008 after 65 years of service to his country. Soon after, he and Gisela moved from Alexandria, VA to San Antonio, TX where he continued to serve as Senior Lead Consultant to the F/A18 Program for Wyle Laboratories right up to the date of his death. Jack's greatest passion was for flying. He was proud of his Scottish heritage, which might explain his love of golf. He truly was a wonderful and caring man to his wife of 20 years as well as to his children, grandchildren and many friends. He will be missed by so many who feel so blessed to have had him in their lives.
