Carol, Nini, Caca’s, CochinaLina, and Princess, all nicknames of endearment, was a strong and independent girl who could accomplish anything she put her mind to. She began her cheering career at the age of 5 and eventually became a Spurs Hype Team cheerleader. Dancing was her favorite thing do but she was always willing to try anything new. Her love for being outdoors increased over the years with fishing, camping, hiking, swimming, and just chilling by the river with a cold drink and smoke.
At the young age of 16, Carolena began her customer service career at HEB. She went on to almost completing 5 years with a great group of partners. She quickly worked her way from bagger, to cashier, to team lead, and business center clerk. She also became the mommy to her beautiful dog Chanel Madison.
Although Carolena loved the outdoors, she was bougie and full of style and swag. She could pull off any hair color, makeup look, earrings and outfit. She had a special talent when it came to makeup and get ups. She would thrift clothes and sew them into new outfits. She began crafting and pole dance exercise because she could not be contained to just one thing.
Everyone who was blessed to meet Carolena was instantly drawn to her light, humor, contagious laugh and beautiful smile. She lit up any room she walked into with her bubbly personality, infectious laughter and love for dancing. Carolena lived every single day positive and full of spirit. She was wise beyond her years and never missed an opportunity to work hard and help others. The impact she had on so many peoples’ lives will live on forever. She is survived by mother, Coco Castro (Rick Hall); father, Cody Castro (Michelle Aldana); grandmothers, Maria Valdez and Grace Castro; sister, Claressa Castro; brother, Corey Castro; soulmate, Julian Domingez; doggie daughter, Chanel Madison; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family will be gathering at 4 p.m. and will receive friends from 5 to 7p.m., Friday, June 11, 2021, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
