Carolina Moreno Mendiola

Carolina M. De Mendiola, age 96, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, in San Antonio. Carolina was a retired Teacher’s Aide from Edgewood ISD, where she worked with bilingual children for over 20 years. She was a devoted mother, a devout Catholic and was a strong devotee of the Virgin de Guadalupe. She had a sharp mind and joy for laughter and her sense of humor kept everyone laughing for hours. Carolina always looked forward to seeing her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was one of a kind and had an extremely strong will, which helped her live to the age of 96. Carolina always put other’s needs before hers and made sure that everyone in her family was taken care of to the best of her ability before she passed.

She was preceded in death by parents, Felicitas Aleman and Valeriano Moreno; husband, Erasmo Mendiola Sr.; and son, Erasmo Mendiola Jr. Carolina is survived by her children, Rose Maria Mendiola Gill, Mario Alberto Mendiola, Sylvia Mendiola Lind, Belinda Valdez (Israel), Orlando Mendiola (Aurora), and Felicitas Mendiola Luna as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carolina was the matriarch of the family, and her presence will be sorely missed, especially during the holidays, as she loved this time of the year to be with her family.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
