

She earned a degree in Education from the University of Texas at Austin 1958. Carolyn was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority where she served as President of the Texas Alpha chapter.
Throughout her life Carolyn enjoyed being with friends and family in many locations, including many travels abroad, and summers at the family coast house in Rockport, Texas. Carolyn was always the entertainment planner for holidays, birthdays, and any other excuse to get people together. She was an avid reader and photographer, loved playing board games, card games, cooking, needlepoint and quilting. The pictures she took filled many albums. The importance of family was at the core of everything she did. She was an enthusiastic member of the Battle of Flowers Association and her beloved Stitch on the Bias (SOB) sewing club. She was also an active member of First Presbyterian Church in San Antonio.
Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, L.D. Middleton, Jr. and Eloise Middleton and her former husband Arthur P. Allison Jr.
She is survived by her daughters, Marian Ruiz (George) and Laura Kanter; son, Fred Allison (April); brother, Fred W. Middleton; sister, Sally Beckwith; her grandchildren: Erin Montie (Travis), and Jonathan Kanter (Kate), and Emma, Charles, and Josephine Allison; her great grandchild, George Montie and numerous nieces and nephews.
