Catherine Marie Polka

Catherine Marie (Kitty) Polka entered eternal rest on May 24, 2012 at the age of 89. She was born on October 22, 1922, in the village of Fairport in the upper peninsula of Michigan, the daughter of Richard and Jenny Collins.

Kitty's devotion to family and helping others was most important in her life. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.

She was a member of the Sultans De Bexar, St. PJ's, Hollywood Park Garden Club, St. Mark's Church Guild and the Ladies Club of the S.A. Liederkranz.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Brandon Polka; sister, Virginia Janowski; brother, Gerard Collins. She is survived by her husband, Fred for 65 years; sons, Martin and wife, Beverly, James and wife, Sharon; grandsons, Michael and wife, Sarah, Shawn and Ryan; sisters, Rosalie Ferruccio, Sr. Regina Collins SSND, Pauline Cleary, Teresa Wilson, Rita Mendez, Eleanor Thibault, Miriam Smith; brothers, James and Jude Collins; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M., Sunday, May 27, 2012, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church.
