He retired from the San Antonio Police Department after 22 years of service. Bubba was a member of Community Bible Church and Triune Lodge #15, AF&AM.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Joyce Nell Woelke. Surviving are his wife, Cheryl Alexander Jakeman; son, Charles E. (Chuck) Jakeman, IV (Christine); daughter, Debbie J. Prewitt (Terry); Stepsons, Robert Berry (Kathy Stephens) and John Berry; grandchildren, Carsyn Jakeman, Zachariah Prewitt; sister, Charlene (Charlie) J. Carpenter (John). He is also survived by aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
A memorial service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, 2015 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Per his request, Bubba will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Bible Church, 2477 Loop 1604, San Antonio, TX 78232.
