To the family of Charles W. Gray, Jr. 
Dear Betty and family, 
 We are sorry to hear of the passing of Charlie. We have all enjoyed knowing him and working with him in the steel fabricating business. 
 We have shared many hours of hard work, smiles and laughs with him plus numerous rounds of friendly golf. 
We all worked hard, did a good job and reaped the benefits of an excellent professional reputation. 
 Testament of our efforts are visible throughout central Texas. 
 Charlie and you, Betty, will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

How many wonderful memories I have of good times with Charlie, Betty, Steve and me - living in University housing, playing bridge, having our children and watching them grow up. The Grays are always in my heart.

Due to the bad weather,we will be unable to attend the memorial service. 
Below is a short letter to Charlie. Charlie, in the 40 years working with you, I have so many memories that are all good. I'm just thankful I chose Tips Iron & Steel for my first and only job after finishing U.T. in 1950. You were truly one of my best friends. We played many a round of golf together which I enjoyed. I will always recall our relationship as a pleasant one. I know you are in "Great Hands" now, where there's no more problems, just peace and joy forever. Your Friend in Christ, Bob

My sincere sympathy to all of the family. I remember Mr. Gray as a very kind and gentle person. Ann and I were great friends in through high school and I spent many happy times in your house. My prayers are with you all.

Please accept our condolences for the passing of Mr. Gray. We did not know him but feel that we do through living in the home that he built and where your family lived for so many years on Flintridge. We are thinking of you.

Charlie Gray, along with Jerry Kelly and Bob Gustafson - all of Tips Iron & Steel, helped tremendously with my development as a structural engineer. His eagerness to share his knowledge of the fabricating industry allowed me to produce easily constructable buildings. I will always fondly remember his friendly and helpful guidance. He was one of a kind.

Mr. Gray was truly a special man. Even though I have not seen him since I was in high school, he was part of many happy memories of my childhood. Ann was my best friend and I was asked to share in "Children's Day". We all shared adventures at Six Flags, to lunch at Stagecoach Inn. The Grays always made me feel like I was part of the family on these events. I remember Mr. Gray as a tall, quiet man that had a heart of gold. He loved his family and was one of those dads that everyone wish they had had. I know he will be missed by his family and friends.

I did not know you well but just watching you take care of mrs. gray,with all the love and support you gave to her tells me you are such a good man. and will be missed.. donna young

Helen Dailey and Peggy O'Neil want to send out their sympathy to Betty & her family upon hearing of Charlie's death. They played many years of Tennis at Tahitian Village in Bastrop with Charlie and Betty. We will miss his smiling face.
