Charles Ernest Rogers, age 87, passed away on January 24, 2016 at his home in San Antonio. He was born in Marlin, Texas on September 24, 1928 to Clyde and Ruby Rogers. Charles graduated from South San High School. He was married to Madeline Rogers June 6th, 1959 and remained together for 57 wonderful years.
A World War II vet, Charles had a 30 year career in Civil Service for Kelly Airforce Base. He then owned and operated, Rogers Refrigeration for another 20 years. He was a 50 year Master Mason of the Davy Crockett Lodge. He had a passion for water skiing, snow skiing, and traveling with Madeline.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline, his son, Robin Rogers, daughter, Linda Sriro, grandchildren, James Lovell, Michelle Cole, and great grandchildren, J.D. Lovell, Megan Kidd, and Liam Lovell, his niece and nephew, Bobby Adams, Shary Kaser and her daughter, Carrie.
A visitation will be held Friday, January 29, 2016 at Sunset Funeral Home from 1:00pm-3:00 pm followed by the graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park at 1701 Austin Hwy San Antonio TX 78218. Condolences may be offered at sunsetfuneralhomesa.com.
