

He served in the Army Air Corp and then the US Air Force during World War II, the Korean conflict, and the Vietnam war. His wide-ranging interests and the sense of adventure he and his wife shared also led them to own a Grade A dairy farm and to own a business selling and servicing telecommunication devices for the Deaf.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 51 years, Betty Jean Segler, his parents and his sisters, Pauline Ulrich and Eugenia Carlton.
Charles is survived by his sister, Janice Lamar; and by his daughters, Christina Jones and her husband Donny, and Carol Segler and her husband Paul Abreu; granddaughters, Heather Jones, Heidi Rees and her husband Danny; grandsons, Matthew Baumbacher and his wife, Candice, Todd Baumbacher; and great grandchildren: Mya, Miles and Luke Baumbacher and Stephen, Nathaniel, Simon and Joshua Rees.
