Mrs. Westaway was the tenth child born to Frances Helen and Charles Joseph Howard in Washington, Indiana on September 10, 1935. She attended St. Simon Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Washington Catholic High School in May of 1953. She married Mr. John E. Gibbens on September 2, 1953 at Bossier Base Air Force Chapel in Shreveport, Louisiana. They were the parents of Elizabeth Ann Gibbens and Michael Douglas Gibbens. She was later married to Robert Westaway.
Surviving Mrs. Westaway in addition to her two children are one sister, Mrs. Pat Cosby of Washington, Indiana and a brother, William Howard of St. Pete Beach, Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Her remains will be interred at St. John Cemetery in Washington, Indiana where the remains of her parents and family members are laid to rest. This will take place at a memorial graveside service on April 12, 2008. Final arrangements are with Ed Lee Mortuary in Washington, Indiana.
