Christine Mosley Strauss, beloved wife, mother, grandmother; went to be with Our Lord, December 11, 2012, at the age of 75. Chris was born in Bakersfield, California to Douglas and Almeta Mosley. Raised in Wasco, California, she enjoyed being involved in school and church. High school was highlighted by being a Wasco High cheerleader and drum major as well as being chosen Kern County Queen and Wasco City Queen. During these years she met the love of her life Robert Strauss. They were married December 28, 1959 and moved to San Antonio, Texas shortly afterwards. Chris stayed active in church singing in choir and teaching Sunday school. Employed by Ray Ellison and Travelers Insurance Company, she retired after 15 years as Office Manager. She continued working at San Antonio Busy Bodies with her beloved husband. She enjoyed growing various flowers and plants and loved having her family around her. Christmas with family was a very special time for her. Chris was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Almeta Mosley; in-laws, Dave and Lenora Strauss; brother-in-law, Bob Counts. She is survived her loving husband of 53 years, Robert Strauss; daughters, Sharla Harmon and husband Randal, Devorah Guiher, Shana Burnett and husband Jason; grandchildren, Chad Hembree and wife Sara, Blayne Hembree, Tiffany Hembree, Robert Harmon, Amber Harmon, Cameron Guiher; great grandchildren, Madisyn Wood and Grayson Hembree; sister, Wylodene Counts; brother, Robbyn Mosley and wife Janet and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 19, 2012 at 11:00am followed by funeral services at 12:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to San Antonio Busy Bodies, Christine Strauss Scholarship Fund, 11985 Starcrest Drive, San Antonio, TX 78247.
