Christopher Joel Hanes, resident of Austin, passed away Sunday July 17 in San Antonio. He was born September 13, 1968 in San Antonio, and lived in Boston, Lufkin, and Austin. At the time of his death, Chris was a student at Texas State University. He reveled in the sun and his sunflowers. One of the things he liked best was playing with children, which is what he was doing when his last seizure occurred. His was a sweet and gentle soul, now at peace. He was preceded in death by grandparents Joe Brown and Bill and Geraldine Hanes, all of San Antonio. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, grandmother Billie Brown of San Antonio, parents Cynthia and Wayne Hanes of Austin, brother Sam and wife Teresa of Old Town, Maine, brother Max and wife Luz of Austin, and many other relatives and friends. A private service is planned.
