Christopher Hiebel

Christopher “Chris” G. Hiebel, age 64, passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at his home in Converse, Texas. Christopher was born March 5, 1960 in Long Island, New York, to parents Eileen Patricia Hagerty and George Jacob Hiebel.

He was a Houston Firefighter for over 30 years, retired August 11, 2023, as well as a Fire Instructor at San Antonio Community College with their Fire Regional Academy from 1993-2005 and again from 2017-2024. Chris graduated from Berkner High School, Richardson, Texas in 1978. He attended Richland college in Communication 1981-1983, San Antonio College in Communication 1983-1984, and was a Regional Fire Academy 1992 Cadet. He graduated from San Antonio College with an Associates of Applied Science – Fire Service Leadership, on December 11, 2021. He had many awards honoring him for his service in Houston, including a Unit Valor award and a Unit Meritorius Achievement Medal.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Jacob Hiebel and Eileen Patricia Heibel, as well as his godmother Kathleen Hagerty Horoszewsky. Christopher is survived by his loving wife, Maureen Hiebel; daughters, Lauren Hiebel (Robert Rule), Taylor Hiebel, Ciara Francis; and son Collin Francis all of Texas. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Abigail; and three grandsons, Alexander, Zaiden, & Hudson. He loved his grandchildren so very much. He is also survived by two brothers, George and Mark Hiebel; two nephews, two great-neices, one great-nephew, one great-great-neice, three great-great-nephews and many many cousins.
