Clifford E. Taylor, Maj. USAF Ret., passed away October 11, 2002, at the age of 80. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School as were all nine of his children, class of 1940. He served in the Army Air Corp as a Navigator/Bombadier in WWII, where he was shot down while on a mission over Germany and held as a P.O.W., until liberated. Maj. Taylor went on to serve a distinguished career in the USAF, retiring in 1960. He then joined Civil Service and retired as the Chief of Aviation Maintenance Training at Kelly Air Force Base in 1986. In his retirement, he was content and surrounded by his loving family. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Bertha Taylor and brothers, Vic and Leonard. He is survived by: his loving wife of 60 years, Doris; nine children, Clifford, Jr., Patrick, Mary Valerie, Ken, Bonnie, Billy, Susie, Russell; and a sister, Dorothy Bergquist; nineteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and devoted Wolfhound, Kelli.
