Col. James Weldon Wiegreffe

James Wiegreffe, age 89, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2023. Born on November 28, 1933, in San Marcos, Texas to parents, Jimmie and Adeline Wiegreffe. He was the oldest of four boys. James graduated from Mineola High School as Valedictorian of the class of 1951. He received his undergraduate degree from Southwest Texas Teachers College and then graduated from UT Galveston with his Doctor of Medicine degree. He spent most of his Medical career in the United States Air Force earning the rank of Full Bird Colonel. After retirement, he moved to Florida to spend many days at Disney, his favorite place on earth. He was preceded in death by his parents Jimmie and Adeline Wiegreffe; and his loving wife, Reba Wiegreffe. James is survived by his son, James Nathan Wiegreffe and his wife Kelly, and daughter, Rebecca Oliver and her husband David. James and Reba also have two grandchildren Alexandra and Parker who they loved dearly. He is also survived by his brothers Roger, Wayne (Donna), and Charlie (Stella) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A graveside service for Col and Mrs. Wiegreffe will be held on their 60th Wedding Anniversary, Thursday, May 18th, 2023, at 10:30 am, located at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
