Corinne was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Kotzur; her parents, Pauline and Calvin Henley; and her siblings, Geraldine Anderson, Velva Doulgash, Celia Rogers, Warren Henley, and Calvin “Butch” Henley, Jr.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Katherine “Kathy” Thompson and husband Ronald, and her son, Charles “Bubba” Abel II and wife Fay. She also leaves behind a legacy of love in her grandchildren: Mikael Lance Thompson and wife Laura, Jennifer Strong and husband Jeremy, Lisa Stephens and husband Frank, Merry Sanders and husband, Sherry Cintron and husband Luis, and Chrystal Moore and husband. Corinne was blessed with 14 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and is also survived by her sister, Barbara Goldsmith.
A lifelong member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Corinne was active in her faith community for nearly 80 years. Her dedication to the church was unwavering, and she joyfully served in Sunday School for many of those years, shaping the lives of countless children with her warmth and wisdom.
Corinne will be remembered for her steadfast faith, her deep love for family, and her quiet strength that touched all who knew her.
The family will receive friends for visitation at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 14, 2025 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, located at 3200 TX-1604 Loop, San Antonio, TX 78245. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM, after which Corinne will be laid to rest next to her husband at San Fernando Cemetery III. A luncheon will follow back at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Corinne’s memory.
