He is preceded in death by his parents: David Garcia and Janie Barron Garcia.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife: Maria (Rose) Sanchez Garcia; Their Children; Daniel (Alejandra), Sara (Roger), Alfred (Melissa), and David; Siblings; Raymond, Richard, and David; eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Daniel proudly served in the United States Navy on the USS Rich (DD-820) and USS Tattnall (DDG-19). During his early years, he enjoyed fishing, barbequing, golfing, and being involved with his children’s sports programs and extracurricular activities. Being a loving man, he always demonstrated his unwavering support of the accomplishments of his loved ones in all aspects of their lives. During his later years, he enjoyed vacationing to Monterrey, Mexico with family, telling stories about his time in the Navy, and cherishing moments with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. While his spirit lives within our hearts, Daniel can be remembered as a hardworking, humorous, selfless, reserve, humble, and caring man.
A visitation for Daniel will be held on Monday, June 17, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home: 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio TX, 78211, including a rosary being recited at 7:00 PM. A mass of resurrection will take place on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church: 617 S Santa Rosa Ave, San Antonio, TX 78204. Following the mass, a light reception and celebration of life will take place at Trevino Funeral Home, with military honors to follow at 1:45 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery: 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio TX, 78209.
