Randy was born on August 14, 1943, in Lufkin, Texas, a life-long resident of the state and a proud Texan. He was a man of intelligence and sharp wit. Those who knew him best will remember him as a man with an opinion and deeply devoted to his wife and the pursuits that mattered most to him.
Randy loved the outdoors, especially gardening and going on long walks with his wife. He cherished hunting and fishing trips in the great Texas countryside. He found pleasure in these interests and the opportunity to discuss his adventures over a beer and a smoke. Whether he was spending time outdoors or sharing stories with others, he found happiness in simple pleasures. His love of these pastimes was part of what made him who he was, and it will remain a cherished part of our memories of him.
Randy graduated from Ray High School, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Shortly after he served in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Texas A&I University of Corpus Christi and a Master of Education from Texas A&M. Throughout his life he worked in Sales and Marketing, was a small business owner and retired as an Elementary School teacher.
Randy’s passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of those who loved him, but his memory will continue to live on through his family and friends. He will be remembered with love and gratitude. Though he is no longer present in body, the legacy of his laughter and his steadfast love will remain with his family and friends always.
