Dave was my first college boyfriend and I was glad to get to know his brother, Phil, and his mom, and know how proud he was of his sister, Christine. In ALL the years we stayed in touch, I always felt he was my guardian angel who always turned up when I needed him most. He was the life of the party, the most generous, the most caring and the most unique and outrageous person I've ever known. He touched my life in every good way.

I will miss making his Xmas breads and hot chocolate. Thanks for all the landscaping material and patio furniture. Will be missed by all.

Thanks for the trips to get the kidney stones out. He must have been the ghost writer for the Sopranos. Thanks Mr. Pokie Man.

It it with sadness that I just heard about Dave's passing. Lots of great memories came back of great times as a kid when we attended "Club 18" Fourth of July picnics with his mom Eileen, dad Harry, brother Phil, and sister Christine. My condolences to his current family.

Dave was a fun guy when we were growing up going to the same high school. Touch football on the beach at Calumet Park was our passion.
He will be missed by many.

I was a member of the graduation class of 1965 from our beloved Mount Carmel. I had 3 brothers who went there as well. I remember the team in 1965 and they were very good. I am happy that he went on to play in College. My condolences to the family for their loss.

It is always a shame and a jolt of reality when we lose one someone that was from our class - remember when we were all invincible?? Wow.

David is one of the most unique and interesting personalities it has been my pleasure to have known. During the five and a half years we were neighbors we became good friends. Hardly a day went by that I didn't interact with him in one way or another. It was always comforting to wake up in the morning look down from the window in my den and see him walking Honey at the speed of a moving turtle. Later it was Harry moving like a flash of lightening with David cursing and saying "run away see if I care". Aside from the disingenuous statement you knew he cared deeply. The dog slept next to him in his bed and sat next to him on the sofa when he watched the t.v. And if David ate a hamburger, Harry ate a hamburger. If David was having chicken, Harry was having chicken. I remember how excited and proud he was when his daughter graduated and how he always looked forward to her next visit. David was the only person I've ever known that would speak fondly of his ex-wives. He was a collector, trader and seller of all kinds of memorabilia. Many a time he would knock on my door or invite me to his apartment to see his latest found treasure. He was always quick to offer a favor yet was hesitant to accept one. When I decided it was time to move on and pursue the next chapter in my life I didn't tell anyone I was preparing to leave. I've always hated telling someone goodbye. I prefer to think that I will get to see them again someday. I had planned to tell everyone in the building the day before I moved so there would be no time for a farewell party. I had been gone for two days making arrangements for my move when David had his accident. I never got to tell my good friend goodbye.

We loved Dave and will carry wonderful and fun memories with us all the days of our lives. It was two years ago that he helped us plan our wedding and the only friend we had at our wedding. Harry and my dog Gremlin were very good friends. 
We would like to extend our sympathy to your family and please let us know about a memorial service even if it takes place in Chicago. Markus works out of Chicago and would very much like to attend.

Howard and I are so sorry to hear about Dave. We knew of his accident from one of his neighbors and were praying for the best. We live in Bel Meade and talked to him almost daily while Harry played with our beagle. We were very fond of him and his loyal buddy and considered him a friend. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
