Today, I close the year with honesty and softness. I honor every memory, every tear, every setback, and every bit of strength it took to make it through. I carry your love with me into a new year.  Not as something lost, but as something forever mine. You may be gone from this world, but you live forever in my heart with every new year. Always loved. Always remembered.

Merry Christmas in Heaven 🕯❤️.  I pray that heaven holds you gently. That your celebration is filled with light and reunion. This Christmas did not break me, but it reminded me of what is missing and how deeply I still feel it. I treasure every moment you spent in life with me.  You are deeply missed, forever loved, and remembered today and always.

I didn't lose you completely. I lost your voice, your smile, your presence but I gained a memory that lives inside me and follows me everywhere.  You are the light that never goes out and the prayer that never ends.  You will always be loved and remembered.

Another Christmas is coming, and I'm learning how to celebrate with memories instead of moments, with love instead of presence, with faith instead of answers. I miss you...more than words, more than holidays, more than time. It's not the same without you. You may be gone but you are never forgotten. You are always on my mind and in my heart.

My mind still talks to you. And my heart still looks for you. But my soul knows you are at peace. You are always on my mind and forever in my heart.

December feels different this year. The world is filled with lights, gatherings, and celebration, but my heart quietly remembers you. You should still be here. As Thanksgiving comes around once again, my heart aches with the absence of your presence.  I miss you dearly and hold you close in my thoughts. Though you are physically gone, your love and memories continue. I give thanks to the time we had together and knowing that your spirit remains a part of my life. Thinking of you always and wishing we would have had a few more years before you had to go. Your life was a blessing. Your memory a treasure. I miss you in ways I didn't know existed. Heaven may be your home now but you live in my heart forever.

I will never lose the love that lives within me for you. Missing you isn't something I  feel...its become a part of who I  am, threaded through every heartbeat, every silence, every memory. Each memory of you is both joy and sorrow, it reminds me of all I've lost and all I was blessed to have. I still feel your love in the silence, and I miss you in everything I do.

When you passed I didn't learn to live without you I just learned to live with your love in a different way. Some days I feel lost and wish that you were here. Other days my aching heart and crying eyes is probably what you see. One step at a time and still wishing you could have stayed. Thinking of you often, missing you always, and loving you forever.

On the hard days: I wouldn't trade the love to escape the grief. I wouldn't erase the happiness to avoid the pain. And I will endure a lifetime of missing you for the privilege of having loved you. I miss you more each day. Life is not the same since you were called away.

It has been a difficult year without you. I often sit and think about the happiness and joy that you and I shared. I think of all the laughter, the smiles, the good times and the difficult times we had when we were together. Although it brings me comfort it reminds me how, without you, life will never be the same. The next time I meet you will be at heaven's door. I pray that God will give me strength and somehow get me through...as I struggle with the heartache that came when I lost you. I miss you deeply. I love you still. I thank God for the time I had with you.

God whispered...He's given his all, He's given his best. He's tired and and now he must rest.  I'll take him to heaven. He waits for you there. No need for worry. No time for despair. Remember his laughter.  Hold tightly his love. Please say no goodbyes. Dry the tears in your eyes. Remember love has no end. He'll meet you in heaven and you'll be together again.

Today's the anniversary of the day I lost you.  And for a time it felt as though my life had ended too.  But loss has taught me many things I face everyday. And though I'm full of sadness that you're not longer here.  Your influence guides me and I still feel you here.  What we shared will never die  because it lives within my heart, bringing me strength and comfort while we are apart.  It's been one year, 365 days, 8760 hours, 525, 600 minutes, 3153600 seconds, and  every day, every night, every time I have missed you.

Today is one year since your passing and what a great loss for us all.

You are truly missed, thought of, remembered, and loved until the end of time…

Your physical presence is missed daily and we find ourselves reaching for the phone to send you a quick message, a funny joke, a friendly reminder, Tristan’s latest creations…then remember you aren’t here with us…

I do know we keep you in our continuous  thoughts and memories every day and for that you continue to live within us. 

We miss you so very much and most of all your loving support, guidance, calming voice and reassurance, and the obvious your infectious smile…

It’s a sad day of remembering such a great loss but also a reminder to live life to the fullest, be happy, live in the moment, and never take others for granted.

I mourn every hug we will never have. Every phone call that will no longer come. Every milestone you wont be here to see but should be. You are not forgotten nor will you ever be. As long as life and memory last, your soul will live in mine. I miss you now and as time goes by I'll miss you even more. Your loving smile. Your gentle face. No one can fill your vacant space. That void can never be filled and that longing will never fade.

Even though you couldnt stay until the final page of our journey, your chapter still matters. I find myself returning to those pages rereading the moments we shared, smiling at the memories that still feel so vivid. Your page is permanently folded down, not as a reminder of what didn't finish, but as a celebration of what was. Because your chapter remains one of my favorites in the entire book of our lives together. You will always linger in my mind. You will always be the other half of my soul. And you will always be the deepest scar on my heart.

So, it seems no matter what I do, my heart will always look for you. In everything I do. In every memory, old and new. My heart will always look for you.

I pull in slowly, like I always do. Turn off the car and sit for a minute. It's quiet here.  When I reach your spot everything rises up.  The missing you.  The talking to you like you are still here. Because some things need to be said out loud. I wish you were still sitting right across from me listening the way you always did. But there is no voice on the other side now. Eventually, I stand. Fix your flowers. Brush the leaves away. I never feel right leaving you but I know I can't stay. So I whisper I love you,  knowing I will find my way back here again, just like I always do. I hope I see you in my dreams healthy and content in your new world.

Your passing destroyed me in ways I can't begin to comprehend. I do know without question it is a level of devastation that won't "heal" in my lifetime or any lifetime that contains your absence.  There will never be a time where I will be done grieving you or learning new ways to exist without you. Always missed. Always loved. Forever in my heart.

I lost a piece of me the day I lost you.  A void so deep, nothing can undo. You were my heart, my soul, my light. Now I wonder alone through endless nights. But in my heart you still remain a flickering spark through the endless pain. Though I've lost so much, one thing is true - a piece of me will always belong to you.

I often wonder what I would say to you if I could see you again. And I've come to the conclusion that there aren't words for that moment.  I would simple hold you, cry and tell you that I love you and I miss you. I thought the hardest part of losing you was the day you passed away. I know now that it is all of the days that keep coming without you here. You're the only one I never wanted to live without.

Even though you are no longer here,  I choose to believe you're still everywhere.  In the pauses between my thoughts, in the way certain songs hit harder, in the small moments no one else would notice...but you would have.  You're woven into my day a thousand quiet times. And no matter how much time passes, you're still a part of me. Always missed. Always loved. Always with me.

Though you are no longer here in the way you once were. ...you are still with me just in a different way. You are near, even if I don't see you. You are with me, even if you are far away. You are in my heart , in my thoughts, in my life, always

I still remember how painful that day and night was losing you eleven months ago. How tired my eyes and heart were. I still remember how I almost ran out of breath while I was crying. I will never forget how difficult it was losing you. I will never forget that pain. So, I never said goodbye to you, instead, I said, " I love you." As you departed on your journey to a place where life is new, I held your hand and I kissed you. Your leaving made me cry. But in the end I will see you again.  So that is why I never said goodbye.

Time will not dim the face I love, the voice 
I heard each day or the many things you did for me each day in your own special way. All my life I will miss you as the months and years come and go. But in my heart I'll keep you because I love you so. So I will weep, and I will smile, and carry you through each day. Love like ours does not grow old, it stays, it burns, it won't  be told too fade, to end, to be set free. You live in love. You live in me.

I miss you even more when something good happens, because you are the one I want to share it with. I miss you when something is troubling me, because you were the one who understood me so well. I miss you all the time, but I miss you most when I lay awake at night, and think of all the good times we spent with each other, because those were some of the most memorable times of my life. I just miss you.

Everyday, I remind myself that I wouldn't trade my love for you to escape the grief. People may think that I  have survived your death but what they don't understand is that I have to relearn how to survive each day, because you are still gone. I loved you until the end of your life, and I will love and miss you until the end of mine.

Since you passed my life has changed forever.  It's not something I will get over. Losing you has now become a part of who I am. Despite all the hurt, all the pain, all the struggles that have come as a result of losing you; I'm still forever grateful I had you.

The most beautiful tear doesn't fall in sorrow...it falls in remembrance. It slips down my cheek in a quiet moment when your laughter echoes from the past, when dreams once held close still stir gently in my heart, and when the memory of your voice  or your smile brings both a warmth and an ache. It's a tear born not of pain, but of love so deep it refuses to fade, it speaks of what once was, of what still lingers, and of a longing that only exists  because you mattered that much to me. Since you've been gone the whole world seems empty. I wish I could say it gets easier but it doesn't. I still miss you everyday.

The day we met I held my breath. Right from the start I knew I had found a home for my heart. All of my doubt suddenly went away. Somehow,  I knew I have loved you for a thousand years and I will love you for a thousand more...a thousand years.

Never another "I love you. " Never another call. Never another hug. Never another smile. Never hearing your voice. Never seeing you again walk through that door. The nevers are what hurt the most. Not a day goes by that I don't  think of you, miss you, and wish you were here.

I am just now trying to understand the difference between your passing and your absence.  Your passing was a singular event. But your absence will go on forever.  You had so much life left to live. So many more memories to make. It will forever break my heart that you didn't get that time.

My life goes on without you  by my side.  And nothing is the same. Living my life without you is the  hardest part of all. I hide my heartache every day. You did so many things for me and for us. Your heart was kind and when I needed you, I could always count on you to be there. The special years  we shared will not return. But because of  the love we had for each other you will be with me forever. My thoughts are always with you. In life  I loved you dearly and in death I love you still.

Forever is a long time  to miss you. Especially when  your absence has left such a lasting mark on my heart. Your absence has created a deep scar in my heart, and time moving forward only seems to deepen my longing. Yet in this ache there is comfort in old pictures, your scent, a connection that existed here and now in heaven. To miss you forever is to keep a part of you alive within me, to hold on to what you meant to me. I will carry you with me in my thoughts. That special place in my heart will always remain there. I found a picture of you. One that I had not seen in awhile. I held it in my hands lost for a moment in your smile.  I found a card from you and a message you left on our refrigerator  written in your own special way. I held them in my hands lost for a moment in that day. Memories, sweet gifts from you to allow my heart a breath. To let me be lost for a moment to remember our life together not just your passing.

You were one of the greatest gifts in my life and I will cherish every moment we had together today , tomorrow, and always.

My mind knows you are gone, but my heart refuses to accept it. It's a constant battle between reality and denial. You were larger than life and your absence is still felt in every single part of my life. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you. Life may have taken you from me, but it can never take the time we had. I'll always be grateful for every laugh, every embrace, every I love you, and every small moment that made our story ours. No matter how much time passes your memory rests heavy on my heart.  I always knew my heart would break in two if I  lost you and it did. You were my greatest love and my hardest goodbye.

As unlucky as I was to lose you, I was equally as lucky to have loved you, and been loved by you.

Dave, you are rooted deep within my soul. A part of me forever. In the deepest parts of my heart you are always there.

No matter where I went today or what I had to do, my thoughts always turned to you . It's still incredible how heavily your absence weighs on my chest. It truly takes effort just to breathe . I always think, you should still be here. People tell me that grief will get easier. I don't know what they are talking about because each day without you is harder than the previous one.

You are missed each and every day, for you were someone special who meant more than words can say. Every day feels so long now that you're no longer here. I love you every day.
