Deborah Dee Murrell

Debbie D. Murrell, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on September 10, 1949, in Elyria, Ohio, to parents, Elma and Lehman Wells. Debbie attended Newark High School and graduated in 1967. Later, Debbie obtained a bachelor’s and master’s degree in education from The Ohio State University which led to her thirty-year-long career as a teacher both in Ohio as well as in Texas. She enjoyed playing piano, and loved puzzles, gardening, and baking. Debbie was a loving wife, very nurturing mother, a great listener, friend, and teacher to many. She was a true Christian lady in every way and was surely welcomed into Heaven with a “Well done, my faithful servant”.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lehman M. Wells, mother, Elma L. Wells, and her brother, Skippy T. Wells. Debbie is survived by her husband, Jeffrey A. Murrell, daughters, Meredith D. Fountain (David) and Alycia L. Willard (James), stepson, Darrin A. Murrell (Kelly), grandchildren, Brandon A. Murrell and Leah M. Muliett (Joseph), brother, Kenneth M. Wells (Linda), sister, Carolyn D. Wells, brother, Terry L. Wells (Samantha), and sister, Wendy D. Lewis (Barry), along with numerous nieces and nephews. Debbie will be dearly missed by those who loved her.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Monday, October 03, 2022, at Porter Loring Mortuary.
