Delia Mundula McKinley

Delia Mundula McKinley, loving wife, mother and Nonna, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2019 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 95. She was born July 6, 1924 in Trieste, Italy to Giuseppina and Salvatore Mundula. She met and fell in love with Fred W. McKinley, a U.S. soldier stationed at the American military base in Trieste, Italy. They married & traveled to many locations during his military career before retiring in San Antonio, TX. Delia loved to cook, play bingo, crochet & knit and had a giving heart. Over the years, many people were the recipients of the blankets she lovingly crocheted.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Fred; sisters, Ester and Alida, and her many “Triestina” friends, especially Natalia McKenna. She is survived by her son, Walter Mario McKinley, daughters, Emily Freimarck and Mara Lagunes; plus grandchildren, Tracy, David, Marissa and Bianca and great grandchildren Gabriel and Elijah.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home followed by a private interment at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
