Diane Ruth Farley was born October 8, 1940 in Windom, Minnesota to Jacob and Elizabeth Heide. She went to Country School thru 8th grade. She then graduated in 1958 from Mountain Lake, high school in Minnesota. She met the love of her life Roy Farley who was a food inspector for many types of food at Tony Downs foods in St James in 1959. They married July 31 1960 in South Dakota. Diane went with Roy wherever he was stationed in different countries and in the US, with the army. She lived with Roy in San Antonio when he retired from the service. Diane worked at Data Point and SAS shoes in the insurance department.
In 1995 they moved to St James MN where they joined the Hosanna Free Lutheran Church. They traveled for a few years in there motor home then later bought a home in New Braunfels, TX.
Diane loved playing her guitar and singing. She sang in many places, churches, nursing homes and small venues. She loved many animals and loved talking to them! They would look at her like they knew what she was saying. She was a very special angel to us all.
Diane passed away 9/21/2019 at Kindred Hospice in San Antonio, TX.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Farley of 59 years; sisters, Edna & husband Jerry Erskin, Ellen & husband Peter Zielenski and Lauretta & husband Jim Hagen; brothers, Kermit & wife Carol Heide, Eldon Heide, Richard & wife Connie Heide; sisters-in-law, Sharon Heide and Ma Jean Heide; step-daughters, Karen Williams, Connie Bachota; and step-son, Roy A. Farley. She also had 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob & Elizabeth Heide; brothers, Harold & Wilmer Heide; mother-in-law, Pearl Farley; and sisters-in-law, Goldie May Arbogast and Marie Heide.
The Visitation will be 10 a.m., Thursday, September 26, 2019 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with the Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m.
The burial will take place at 11 a.m., Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery (shelter #1).
