Donald Alvin Carroll

Donald (Don) Alvin Carroll, age 73, of San Antonio, TX, passed away on Thursday, April 28, 2011. He was born, Oct. 24, 1938 in Timpson, TX to parents Mr. and Mrs. Hollis Carroll. Don is survived by his brother, Paul Winston (Shirley) Carroll of Gonzalez, Texas; He is also survived by his 3 children; Son, Bradley Don (Sandra) Carroll; Daughter, Melissa Suzanne (Michael) Galindo; Son, Derek Alan (Gemell) Carroll and his former wife Linda Hubbard Cherry. He is also survived by his 6 Grandchildren, Amber-Lynn & Ashleigh Galindo, Hailey & Kelsey Carroll and DJ and Drew Carroll. Don retired an “IBMer” from the IBM Corporate branch of San Antonio after 31 yrs of service. However, retirement could not hold his passion for working with Computer Systems and Customers down, so he went to work for Star Inc., which spawned Billing Concepts Inc, then spawned Aptis Technologies, until he finally decided to really take retirement. After retirement, you would most often find him walking with his dog Carmen (Preceded in death) or his newest companion Dolly, working in his yard, working the “market” or just enjoying time with neighbors, family and friends. Don was also an avid sports fan. He most enjoyed watching the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. He will be greatly missed… May the grace of our Lord be with him.
