

Donald William Luckemeyer went to be with his Lord on September 30, 2014 at the age of 89. He was born in Kerrville, Texas to C. F. and Louise Luckemeyer on October 13, 1924. He was married on December 18, 1951 to Evelyn Mayer in Kerrville, Texas. He attended Tivy High School and then went on to Schreiner Institute where he earned an associate’s degree. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in Germany. After the war, he attended the University of Texas in Austin where he earned a BBA. He then worked at the Legend Hospital in Kerrville and Reese Air Force base in Lubbock, TX. In 1950 he answered the Lord’s calling and entered Trinity Seminary in Columbus, Ohio. After graduating he served at Lutheran churches in Texas at Littlefield, Mission Valley, Pflugerville, and Karnes City. He retired from active ministry in 1985 and moved to San Antonio, TX where he served part time at several different churches. He is survived by his spouse of 63 years and six children, Ruth (Mario) Seminara, Becky (Kirk) Richard, Paul (Sheri) Luckemeyer, James (Karen) Luckemeyer, Rachel (Mark) Jackson, and Deborah (Todd) Batten. They have twelve grandchildren. Visitation will take place on Sunday, October 5, 2014 from five to seven PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at Atonement Lutheran Church on Monday, October 6, 2014 at ten AM. He will be buried at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 10:30 am.
