Doris Sue Standridge

Doris Sue (Runyan) Standridge of San Antonio, Texas went to be with the Lord on June 30, 2018. She was born to Lloyd Vincent and Lloraine Valerie Runyan on September 20, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas. Doris was a lifetime member of the P.T.A. participating in all of her children’s school activities over many years. She was a bookkeeper who found her niche preparing taxes. She was an enthusiastic Bunko player and loved designing award winning dance and baton twirling costumes. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Vincent and Lorraine Valerie Runyan; her siblings, Naomi Williamson, John Runyan, and Perry Runyan; her daughter-in-law, Lynette Frieda Standridge, and great grandson, Austin. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John R. Standridge; her sister, Ruth Allen; her children, Johnny Standridge, Sue Standridge Cole, and Sherry Standridge Burkett; her grandchildren, Josh Standridge and his wife, April, Valerie Balbaugh and her husband, Robby, Brandy Thomas and her husband, Gregory, Brandon Cole and his wife, Heather, Chelsea McKeathen, and her husband, Benjamin, and Laurel Burkett; great grandchildren, Aiden and Alyssa Standridge, James Cole, Zoe and Grace Balbaugh, and Breanne, Bentley, and Blaise Thomas; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close friends.

Visitation will be on Thursday, July 12th from 5:00-7:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home. There will be a Graveside service on Friday, July 13th at 9:15 am at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery shelter 2; 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd; San Antonio, TX 78209.
